The package is convenient. It is also just four public tickets sold with a margin on top. Here is exactly what to buy, in what order, and where the timings are tight.

Depart Oslo S 08:25 · arrive Myrdal 13:00 · Flåm Railway 13:27 → Flåm 14:25 · fjord cruise 15:30 → Gudvangen 17:30 · bus 17:40 → Voss 18:50 · train 19:10 → Bergen 20:20. Confirm every departure on Entur for your date; times shift between seasons.
If that day sounds long — it is. The better version is to stop in Flåm overnight, do the cruise the next morning when the fjord is calm, and reach Bergen by early afternoon. Package customers can't easily do this; you can.
Bergen → Voss by train, bus to Gudvangen, cruise to Flåm, Flåm Railway up to Myrdal, train back to Bergen. Same tickets in a loop, around NOK 1 700–2 000 per adult booked separately against about NOK 2 100 for the package. Smaller saving, but you keep the freedom to break the loop and stay in Flåm.
Three cases. You're booking within a week of travel in July and Minipris fares are gone. You want one booking reference because you're travelling with people who'll panic at five tickets. Or you're adding Hardangerfjord or Sognefjord extensions that the package bundles neatly. Otherwise, book it yourself.

Buying the Flåm Railway for the wrong direction. Missing that Myrdal station has no town — it's a platform on a mountain; don't plan to eat there. Assuming the boat waits for late trains (it doesn't; the package and the operators both work to the same timetable, so build in the same buffers). And buying standard train fares when Minipris was available two clicks deeper on Vy.
