I'm [NAME]. I live in [CITY], Norway, and I built Plan Norway because every time someone asked me what a train from Oslo to Bergen actually costs, or whether tonight was worth chasing the northern lights, I found five different answers online — most of them outdated, some of them guesses.
The tools pull from primary sources instead of estimating: live departures and journey times from Entur, cloud cover and daylight from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, solar activity from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center. Plan Norway earns a small commission when you book through GetYourGuide, Viator, Stay22, Fjord Tours or Hurtigruten via links on this site, at no extra cost to you. That's what pays for the APIs and the hosting — it doesn't change what gets recommended. If a cheaper or better option exists, that's the one you'll see.
